Bought the wii fit earlier on this week and I'm a bit meh about it.

Plus points: most of the games are fun and it does encourage you to keep at it by unlocking new games the longer you persist at it. Plus its good to see your actual progress on the graph thingys and the trainers if slightly bland are encouraging. You can password protect your mii and its weight if you don't want prying eyes to see. It also has a scoreboard after each game you do so those of a competitive nature have another incentive to stick with it.

Minus points. When I got weighed on it the first time it immediatly flicked to the obese end of the scale. Now I accept I'm overweight, fine even obese. However the fecking game then started shrieking in that whiny computery voice as if my fatness was crushing the inanimate wii board when it showed I was obese. Thaaaanks for that. Then my mii automatically expanded to reflect my wii weight i.e. My mii is now a round ball with little stumpy hands and feet sticking out the side. Then you come onto how much your clothes weigh. How in the fuck would I know? I don't weigh my clothes. So I guesstimated heavy? So already I know its not going to be an accurate reflection of my weight.

Still though its good to change up my routine and I plan to add it to my dvd workouts and walking.

In other wii news I actually finished a game, for the first time ever! I discovered my favourite genre, point and click mysteries/puzzles games. This one reminded me somewhat of "escape from the crimson room". This game was called "Secret files: operation tunguska". Thing that slightly irritated me was it was based in russia and all the main characters were russian yet all had american accents. That aside it was highly enjoyable.

Now I leave you with a rather funny story. I'm too tired to make it a pretty link but I reccomend reading it if you want a laugh :)

No but its pretty much word for word what I wanted to say but expressed much more eloquently :) Thankfully I haven't gained weight on it *yet* so don't have to fuck it out the window when it asks me am I really sure I don't know how I gained the weight. It seems theres a fine line between it holding you accoutable and downright insulting and it manages to do the latter quite a lot so far!

The Wii Fit does have an Activity Log where you can add in all those other things you do. I don't remember off the top of my head how to access it but I can look for it for you when I get home.

I have to say that the constant reminder that I'm overweight is not good for the psyche either. I check in most days when I do it, to see how I'm going mostly but also to get that extra stamp, and the unhappy "YOU ARE FAT" thing wears REALLY thin.

Boy weighs over 300 pounds--he can't even play the Wii Fit because it says he's over the weight limit. The board itself is made to hold like 600 pounds. WTF?

Hey, how about if your partner uses the Wii Fit every day, and you've given up after a while... It shows his Mii being all active and doing his yoga and whatnot, and shows my fat ball with arms with my head down and zzzzzzzz's coming out my head. Then when he starts working out (I watch him, because, you know, that's the same as doing the exercises myself :p), it all mockingly says "You're doing well with keeping up with your Wii Fitting (or something similar). Hey, where's guivers! Haven't seen her lately!" Oh har har, you're hilarious stupid mocking machine. I sure want to go on NOW.

I do actually like Wii Fit, but I need James to be out of the house to use it. Since he never leaves the house in winter, I plan on not Wii Fitting 'til he goes back to work in the spring...

Thats terrible! Once again the fine line between holding you accountable and completely insulting you has been stomped on!
